Meet Our Assistant Principal!

My name is Christina Vargas and I am incredibly excited to join the Deer Valley Unified School

District family at Las Brisas and Legend Springs! With two decades of experience in Arizona

education, my passion lies in building relationships that support a school culture where both

teachers and students can thrive.

 

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a Master’s degree in Educational

Administration and Leadership from Arizona State University. Over the course of my career, I

have had the privilege of serving in various capacities as a Physical Education teacher,

Kindergarten teacher, a District Facilitator, an Instructional Design and Professional

Development Specialist, and most recently, as an Assistant Principal for the past three years.

These diverse roles have given me a deep appreciation for the hard work that happens in every

classroom.

 

I am an Arizona native and live in Glendale with my husband, who is on his way to retiring as a

police officer of 25 years next summer. Together, we have a wonderfully blended family,

including our two kids, Mateo (19) and Sienna (13), three amazing adult stepchildren, a sweet

grandson, and a granddaughter on the way! I enjoy any outdoor activity including hiking,

camping and exploring. On the weekends you can find me at the soccer field cheering on my

daughter or planning the next family activity.

 

I am looking forward to collaborating with each of you, learning your stories, and working

together to make this an incredible school year. I am so excited to be here!
