Welcome to the Library Media Center!

Deer Valley School District offers 1:1 student technology.  Kindergarten uses iPads and 1st-6th grade use chromebooks.  Devices used by students in kindergarten - 3rd grade will stay at the school and in the classroom.  These grades will not be responsible for damage, theft or loss.  Chromebooks will be checked out to students in grades 4-6.  These devices may be taken home and carried around the campus by the students.  Grades 4-6 will be financially responsible for any damage, theft or loss of technology due to negligence or lack of care.  Purchasing the Optional Device Protection Plan is highly recommended.  Please check the following for more information,

OWLS know that for EVERYONE, EVERYDAY, ANYWHERE reading is our key to success.

Dear Las Brisas Families,

Our goal is to make reading a family affair.  Help us by adopting family reading habits.

1.  AT LEAST 15 minutes before bedtime, turn off all electronics.

2.  Read TO your child or read WITH your child (take turns a paragraph or a page, then switch.)

3.  If you have too much to do yourself some days, have a sibling or a relative or a friend read to your child.

4.  If your child can read themselves, have them read to a stuffed animal, a dog, a cat, or any other pet. Don't let the pets eat the books! :)

5.  BE AN EXAMPLE.  Let them see you reading as much as possible.  If you don't like books, read magazines or newspapers.  Reading is reading, it doesn't matter what form.

Hello, I just want to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Ali Thomas. Why did I become a library clerk? I wanted to help children find a joy in reading, one I didn't find until I was nineteen. I wanted to bring fun to books, both fiction and non fiction.  We read a variety of books during story time, some silly and some true stories.
