Classroom Expectations
Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so very excited to have your child here in Kindergarten with me. I do wish to go over a few rules and expectations I have in my classroom and here at Las Brisas Elementary School.
At Las Brisas we have some classroom and behavioral expectations throughout our campus. We teach and encourage W.I.S.E. qualities in all areas on campus. W-Willing Attitude, I-Innovative,S-Self-Control, and E-Empathy. Children will earn WISE tickets and will get the opportunity to spend these tickets on fun prizes.
Making appointments: We ask that you attempt to make appointments for your child before or after school whenever necessary to ensure that they do not miss a lot of classroom instructional time. If it is necessary to take your child out for an appointment, please let me know, so I can have your child packed up and ready to go. Whenever possible, please don't attempt to remove your child during our ELA or Math instructional times.
Water bottles, snacks, and lunches:
Your child is permitted to bring a water bottle with water only in their bottle. Please is a school wide expectation. Please send in healthy snacks that are peanut and allergen free. You may choose to bring in shareable snacks that I will use for all students, or you may send snacks daily for your child. If your child has a food allergy or any other dietary restrictions, then please let me know. I have a severe peanut allergy and can suffer anaphylaxis if I come into contact with peanuts or peanut products.
Volunteering in the classroom: For the first month of school, I will not be hosting volunteers in my classroom to allow the students and me to create a classroom family. As soon as volunteers are permitted, I will send out a sign-up genius for parents to volunteer. You will need to be volunteer trained. Please see our website for information about volunteering in the classroom.
